Also: I'm generally willing to give everyone a chance but if you are a self-proclaimed "mean girl" or you shamelessly live to snark, please don't add me. My kittehs are so silly, they just make me so happy 'cuz they act so goofy. And Joey is soooo completely in love and enthralled by Josey, it's really amusing. The other day she was lying on the bathmat by the radiator, and I came in to wash my hands. I accidentally stepped on the tip of her tail, and she squalled (because she's SUCH a drama queen.)

Of course I immediately fell all over myself trying to pick her up and cuddle her, but she ran out of the bathroom and sat just outside the door, looking at me all reproachfully. And THEN, Mr. Joey comes running in, ears back, back arched and eyes blazing like: "HOW DARE YOU HURT MAH WOMAN???"

Or maybe he thinks of himself as her bodyguard. Last night she was posing on the brown chair, looking like a little model kitty and ( I was taking some pictures..., )

But then, I reckon every diva needs an entourage!!

So, since Season Two of RuPaul's Drag Race is set to begin in February, today they are rerunning Season One on Logo. And I'm having a great time watching the earlier episodes, but I'll stop round about episode Five or Six, since that's when the show started to fall apart for me. The shine went out when they eliminated Ongina and Shannel back-to-back, and frankly I thought the wrong queen won the show. Don't get me wrong, I loved BeBe and thought she was wonderful, but really...,



... Nina Flowers was more interesting, exciting, and just more what a drag queen is all about.

Although my personal favourite queen was Shannel:



She WAS too cocky, which might have been okay but she was just a little ungracious about it. But for my money she was the most amazing looking of the queens. Oh well.

And it's snowing! I don't think it's supposed to accumulate, and even if it does it won't amount to much, but it's pretty to see it falling.

So..., this weekend is going to be spent totally vegging and trying to clear this muck out of my sinuses (resting, taking lots of meds and frequent uses of the NetiPot.) I'm getting a little desperate -- it's my fifth day on the methylprednisolone, and last night I kept waking up with a stuffy nose. Not good. Sure would like to avoid another surgery.

Seriously. I'm so freaking tired of hearing speculation about Tiger Woods' personal life! Every time I flip past one of the news shows (and I'm including the tabloid programs in this as well, not because they're news but because they pretend to be) they're talking about Tiger Woods. Like there isn't anything more significant to discuss?? Like nothing else is going on in the world that we should be paying attention to besides the private life of a celebrity? I swear, if the American public was even a tenth as interested in righting the problems of the country, instead of whether Brad and Angelina will EVER GET MARRIED OMG, we'd be in much better shape than we are.

I'm not saying I approve of cheating, nor am I saying I don't sympathize with poor Mrs. Woods. But that's not relevant: This is a PERSONAL matter, to be hashed out between the Woodses and "friends", eheh. And likely the lawyers. Certainly Mrs. Woods should be allowed to be mortified privately and not fear going outside because the press will be clamoring to discover her "feelings on the situation" and whether or not she will seek a divorce. This is not the business of the world at large so let's butt out, huh?

Besides: When it's all said and done, it's just another guy cheating on his wife. What's so interesting about that?

I was flipping channels yesterday and happened upon a classic clip of Duran Duran. MAN, I loved these guys. At first, I denied it because they were "pop" and I was too damn cool and metal to like such bubblegum music (even if it was just BRILLIANT) and besides -- little girls liked them! Shock! Horror!!

But eventually I "came out of the closet" and proudly wore my Duran Duran tee shirts in public. They were just fabulous. And damn -- ( did I have a thing for Nicky Rhodes! )

Yeah..., this just about sums it up....,

Okay, I just think this "banned Full Moon trailer" is hilarious on so many levels. First off, "Bella" looks about 45; second, "Edward" and "Jacob" both look much better than the actual actors (though again, significantly older.) And third -- I was totally unprepared for "Jacob's" transformation at the end. I LOLed!

Oh yeah, watch it all the way to the end. More funny after the "trailer."



Also: The actor who plays Jacob Black in the real "New Moon" movie was Sharkboy?? That makes me LOL even more!

Is this what FINALLY draws me into the world of Twilight? [Nov. 19th, 2009|10:27 am]

I have a friend who is really-REALLY a fan of Twilight, and whom has been trying rather insistently to get me interested in the phenomenon. I think she just wants another "adult" (and I use the term loosely) with whom to discuss the story.

The problem is that I'm just not interested in the premise. Sure, I like the vampire mystique and always have, but they've become so trendy lately that frankly I'm weary. It would be a full-time job to keep informed of all the fangy books, movies and television shows currently available. True, Twilight is the most visible at the moment, but I'm just not particularly interested in angsty teenage love stories -- even the ones with vampires.

Plus the movies haven't produced an image to capture my attention. I think there was a long-haired vampire in the first movie that looked pretty hot, but not to the point that I even bothered to find out who he was. I thought Robert Pattinson was pretty adorable as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies (I think it was the Scots accent), but as the vampire Edward Cullen he just leaves me cold. And while the werewolf kid has his moments of hot (especially with the long hair!), most of the time he just looks neanderthal. Plus even the commercials cannot hide his dreadfully wooden acting chops.

So again I say the the films haven't produced an image to capture my attention -- until now. Last night, my insistent friend emailed me THIS image...,



The vampire Caius


My interest is definitely piqued.

In all fairness, Jamie Campbell Bower (the actor) is too young to really intrigue me, but I do like him and thought he held his own amongst the stellar cast of Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd. And he is very much the embodiment of the shaggy-haired, androgynously-boyish, pale Euro-trash type that I've always been drawn to.



But I doubt that Caius will be enough to make me a Twilight devotee -- he ABSOLUTELY won't be enough to get me to brave the New Moon movie crowds at the theaters! Plus, I'm guessing the character is pretty peripheral and again, he looks too young to really excite me (thank the gods, maybe I'm not destined to be a dirty old lady after all!) I suspect I'll just end up "borrowing" the image for my own vampire RPG and saving myself the bother of becoming familiar with Twilight.

( But WHATEVER would make my friend think I would like Caius? )

Okay so..., I'm praying for a quiet day in the office today. Is that so much to ask?
